FAKE MESSAGE: "HELLO, I. AM VARUN PULYANI DIRECTOR OF WHATSAPP.."

Hi recently I found a fake propagating message on WhatsApp saying WhatsApp has been sold to Facebook so you should send a specific message to 10 of your contacts so that you will get your WhatsApp icon changed into 'F' and if you didn't do so your account will be deleted from their server. The message again continues like this - "Message from Jim Balsamic (CEO of WhatsApp) we have had an over usage of user names on WhatsApp Messenger. We are requesting all users to forward this message to their entire contact list. If you do not forward this message, we will take it as your account is invalid and it will be deleted within the next 48 hours. Please DO NOT ignore this message or WhatsApp will no longer recognize your activation."

I don't understand why people keep sending these sorts of fake messages without knowing its authenticity. The whole message is as below.

"Dont ignore please read it carefully" Hello, I. Am VARUN PULYANI director of whatsapp, this message is to inform all of our users that we have sold whatsapp to Mark Zuckerberg for 19 billion $. WhatsApp is now controlled by mark zuckerberg. If you have at least 10 contacts send this sms and logo of your whatsapp will change to a new icon with facebook's "f" within 24 hours.Forward this message to more than 10 people to activate your new whatsapp with facebook services or else your account will be deleted from new servers.
This is the final notice! Hello everyone, it seems that all the warnings were real, the use of WhatsApp cost money from summer 2014. If you send this string to 18 different on your list, your icon will be blue and will be free for you. If you do not believe me see tomorrow at 6 pm ending WhatsApp and have to pay to open it, this is by law This message is to inform all of our users, our servers have recently been very congested, so we are asking you to help us solve this problem. We require our active users to forward this message to each of the people in your contact list to confirm our active users using WhatsApp, if you do not send this message to all your contacts WhatsApp will then start to charge you. The message also telling the way to earn some money by promoting a website sending to 25 of your contacts. But the funny fact here is - looking to the URL of the website, it is clear that the website is made under a free website provider, that is why the wapka.mobi is there as tale of the URL, here you see, the website they themselves are not spending any money at least to book a Domain Name by giving ~$8 (500 Rupees), they are giving their promoters 500 rupees per 25 contacts.!! It is amazing. Really a foolish thing.

All I can say is that, don't be a victim of these fake messages. If WhatsApp or Facebook has planned to change your icon they simply release new update of their App. They don't want their users to take effort to apply their new features.

    You could be sending a Virus to your contacts by sending the message

    If this isn't true, why I failed to download the voice that were sent to me ? Sorry, I'm not a IT person but I would suggest that a detective system be installed in apps by their maker to prevent fake news from threatening their customers. Please, protect consumers.

      First of all, any official message would not mention Zuckerberg personally. It would talk about coorporations. It also wouldn't ask users to install any unofficial updates from third party sites. This smells like phishing.
